Before We Begin
Getting a professional website doesn't need to be complicated. At Cloud Automations LLC, we've structured the entire process to be clear and low-effort on your end — we guide you through every step, and we do the heavy lifting. What we do need from you is the right information at the right time.
This article walks you through the full client journey — from filling out your first form through to receiving your completed website.
💡 The most important thing you can do right now: Fill out the Website Brief. It's a detailed form that captures everything we need to begin building your site — your brand, your services, your audience, your style preferences, and more. The more complete your brief, the faster and more accurately we can build your site.
Ready to Begin? Start With the Website Brief
The brief is the starting point for every website project. It takes around 15–20 minutes to complete and gives our team everything they need to get moving. You can save your progress and come back to it.

Your Step-by-Step Journey
Fill Out the Website Brief
Day 1 — Takes 15–20 minutesThe Website Brief is a comprehensive form that covers everything we need to understand your project: your business, your brand colours, your services, your target audience, the style you're going for, and the pages you want on your site. You can even upload your logo directly from the form.
Don't worry if you don't have every answer — there are options throughout the form for "not sure yet" and notes fields where you can flag anything you'd like to discuss. The goal is to give us as much context as possible so we can come to your consultation fully prepared.
We Review Your Brief & Schedule a Consultation
Within 1 business day of submissionOnce your brief is submitted, our team reviews it in full before reaching out. Within one business day we'll send you a confirmation and propose a time for a short Zoom call — typically 30 to 45 minutes — to go over your project, answer any questions, and confirm the scope of work.
This call is free and there's no obligation to proceed. It's simply a chance for us to get on the same page before work begins.
Scope Confirmed & Build Begins
Following the consultationAfter the consultation, we send a formal summary of what we'll be building — the pages included, the functionality, the timeline, and the price. Once you confirm you're happy to proceed, our design team gets to work immediately.
We handle everything from this point: domain registration (if needed), hosting setup, design, content layout, and development. You don't need to manage any technical details — that's our job.
You Receive a Link to Your First Draft
Typically within 5–7 business days of build startWhen the first version of your site is ready, we send you a private preview link — a live, working version of the site hosted on a staging environment that only you can access. This is not a mockup or a PDF. You'll be able to click through the site exactly as your future visitors will.
Take your time reviewing it. Check the content, the layout, the colours, the navigation. Make a list of anything you'd like changed — no matter how small. There are no penalties for feedback; revisions are part of the process.
Zoom Review Call — We Go Through the Site Together
Scheduled after you've reviewed the draftOnce you've had a chance to look over the draft, we schedule a 1-hour Zoom call to go through the site together — screen by screen, page by page. This is your opportunity to talk through every change you'd like made: adjustments to the text, layout tweaks, colour changes, additional sections, or anything else.
We take detailed notes during the call so nothing is missed. This structured review keeps the revision process focused and efficient, and ensures we understand exactly what the final version should look like before we make any changes.
📋 Come prepared: Before this call, we recommend writing down anything that felt off when you reviewed the draft — even small things. We'd rather hear about everything now than have you discover something after launch. It's also a good time to review the text on the site and confirm it accurately represents your business.
Revisions Are Made
Within 3–5 business days after the review callAfter the review call, our team works through all the changes discussed. For standard revision lists, this typically takes 3 to 5 business days. If the change list is extensive or involves significant restructuring, we'll give you an updated timeline upfront.
Once revisions are complete, we send you an updated preview link so you can verify everything looks right before we discuss final sign-off.
Final Approval & Site Goes Live
Within 10 business days of build start (subject to revision scope)When you're happy with the site, you give us the go-ahead and we publish it to your live domain. For most projects, this happens within 10 business days of when the build officially started — though timelines can shift depending on the complexity of the revisions and how quickly feedback is returned.
On launch day, we carry out a full pre-launch checklist: checking all links, testing the contact form, verifying the site loads correctly on mobile and desktop, and confirming your domain and SSL certificate are configured properly.
- All links tested across every page
- Contact form verified end-to-end
- Mobile & desktop layout confirmed
- Domain connected and SSL certificate active
- Basic SEO setup in place (page titles, meta descriptions)
Handover & Ongoing Support
Launch day and beyondOn launch day we send you a full handover document — login credentials, a summary of everything set up, and guidance on how to make basic updates if you choose to manage the site yourself. Everything we've built is yours: the domain, the hosting account, the website files, and all content.
If you're on an ongoing support package, we remain available for updates, additions, and technical issues as your business grows. If you ever decide to move the site to a different provider, we hand everything over with no fees, no restrictions, and no lock-in.
What to Prepare Before Filling Out the Brief
The more prepared you are when you fill out the brief, the smoother and faster the entire process runs. Here's what's helpful to have ready:
Your Logo (if you have one)
You can upload it directly in the brief. PNG or SVG formats work best. If you don't have a logo yet, that's fine — just let us know.
Your Domain Name
If you already own a domain, have the name ready. If you don't have one yet, you can search availability at webservices.cloudautomations.net.
Brand Colours
If you have specific brand colours, have the hex codes ready (e.g. #5BC4E8). The brief includes a colour picker that generates the hex code automatically.
A List of Your Services
What do you offer, and how do you want it described? Having a basic list — even rough notes — helps us present your business accurately.
Any Images You Want Used
Photos of your team, your premises, your products, or your work. If you don't have images, we can source professional stock photography that matches your brand.
Sites You Like the Look Of
If there are websites whose style or layout you admire, paste the links into the inspiration field. It's one of the fastest ways for us to understand your aesthetic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fill in what you can and leave the rest blank or use the notes fields to flag it. The brief is a starting point for our conversation — not a test. We'll cover any gaps in the consultation call.
Yes. If you're on an ongoing support package, updates are covered. If you're on a one-time build, we can handle post-launch changes on a quoted basis. Nothing is locked in permanently.
Let us know in the brief's timeline field. If an accelerated timeline is possible, we'll confirm it during the consultation and structure the build accordingly.
Not at all. You don't need to understand any of the technical side — that's exactly what we're here for. The only things we need from you are business information, feedback on the design, and approval at key stages.
Everything is transferred to you in full — domain, hosting account, website files, and all content. We don't retain ownership of anything we've built for you, and there are no exit fees. See our article on who owns your domain and website for more detail.
